A man with "heart of gold" fatally hit by vehicle in Taney County, family say
Forsyth, MO, (January 17, 2025) - On Friday around 8 p.m., an unknown motorist
struck a pedestrian in Forsyth, authorities said. The victim - identified by
family members as Terry Whitcomb - died from injuries.

Terry Whitcomb was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Forsyth Friday
night, according to family members. Authorities did not release any information
about the suspect driver.
According to a GoFundMe page, Terry, aka POPS, earlier lived in Dallas and was a
chemical dependency counselor at Homeward Bound. "He never met a stranger and
had a heart of gold," the fundraiser said. It happened along U.S. Highway 160
near Willow Lane.
The donations, according to the family, are needed to cover funeral expenses.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is investigating the collision.
