OBITUARY
L. C. Whitlock
Mr. L. C. Whitlock died at his home in Pittsburg, Texas, Monday, Dec. 31, 1928.
He was sick but a short time with the flu, tho he had been in failing health for
the past eighteen months. The remains were brot to Addison and funeral held
there at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Morris and interment made in Mt. Calvary
cemetery, Rev. Day conducting the services.
Mr. Whitlock was born in Green county, Ill. 55 years ago. Married Ella Morris
July 12, 1911 and to them two sons were born. He was a railroad man the major
portion of his life, tho for a few years while he resided in the Carrollton
community he followed farming, and was in the employ of the Cotton Belt at
Pittsburg at the time of his death, going from here to Pittsburg nine years ago.
He was a member of the Union Baptist church, having joined that denomination 11
years ago, and had lived a true Christian life. He was a member of the Masonic
and the Woodmen lodges, was loved by all who knew him. His last words were: "I
am ready to go."
