Obituary for Dorothy Jo Williams
Dorothy Jo Williams, of Irving and Carrollton, passed away on September 22, 2021
at the age of 92. She was born in Plano, Tx on January 4, 1929 to James M.
Bridges and Pearl Denison. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers,
2 sisters, and her husband Russ Williams, Jr. She is survived by her daughter
Carol Clendinning and husband Ben, Grandson Ben II and wife Jill, Grandson Brent
and wife Catherine, Granddaughter Michelle Valitutto and husband Paul, also 5
great-grandchildren: Ella, Logan, Alice, Russell Clendinning, and Olivia
Valitutto.
Dorothy worked for Champion International as an executive secretary for 17
years. After retiring, she wanted something part-time. Upon the recommendation
of her niece, Janice Hosey, she got a job at Solly's barbecue in Addison. There
she enjoyed meeting customers and cutting up with them and co-workers. It was
one of the most fun jobs she ever had. She worked there until her first
great-grandchild was born. She and Russ had the joy of keeping Ella and Logan
until they started school. This kept them both young in spirit and gave them
purpose in their senior years.
Dorothy also enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was a devoted fan of the
Dallas Cowboys and loved hosting football parties with family and friends. She
loved country music and enjoyed dancing with Russ at various honky-tonks
throughout Texas.
The most important things in her life centered around family and close friends.
She was always planning dinners, cookouts, campouts, vacation trips with them.
She was full of fun and laughter and made friends wherever she went. She will be
missed by all that knew her and will forever be in our hearts.
There will be a celebration of life on November 24, 2021 at 10:00AM in Wildwood
Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas Tx 75243. |
