OBITUARY

FRED MORRIS WILLIAMS
January 07, 1927 - January 19, 2017

The funeral for Fred Williams will be held at 11 A. M. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Carrollton Church of the Nazarene 1529 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the church.

Entombment will follow at Hilltop Cemetery, 1810 Perry Rd., Carrollton, TX 75006

At the age of 18, Fred married 16 year old Betty Lee Rains, to form a partnership that would span the next 71 ˝ years. Especially in retirement years, it was always Freddie and Betty together, rarely seen or mentioned apart. Betty’s extraordinary care for more than 10 years gives specific insight to the reality of “for better or worse, and till death do us part.”

Fred was a kind and giving person who seems to grow softer and sweeter with age. A decision to make God the center of his life in his young adult years would be a guiding factor for the rest of his life that allowed him to rise above his heritage. God and the Church would be the central focus of his life. Fred will be remembered specifically as a Christian man, a very good man, faithful husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and friend to just about everyone he encountered. This is a legacy everyone who knew him should cherish.

Fred is preceded in death by both his parents, and all 9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include wife Betty of Carrollton, Texas; Janet and James Edwards of Sugarland, Texas; Kenneth Williams of Amarillo, Texas; Larry and HeidiLynne Williams of Carrollton Texas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be given to the Church of the Nazarene East Texas campground that was so special to Fred and Betty: Scottville(Texas) Camp and Conference Center, P.O. Box, 307, Scottsville, Texas 75688, identified as “The Fred and Betty Williams Memorial.”

May God bless the legacy and life of this special man.
