joined the Navy out of High School and fought in the Korean War where he
developed a love for aviation. After the military, he worked for Braniff /
Dalfort for more than 30 years. Fred married Darla Boothe April 15, 1994 in Las
Vegas, Nevada. For the past 15 years, they have lovingly shared their lives as a
team, growing together in faith, love and family. Fred was a member of Kirkwood
United Methodist Church in Irving, Evergreen at First Baptist Church and Braniff
Airlines Retirement Club, where he served as chaplain.

Fred was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. He never met a stranger and
touched the lives of many people through his acts of kindness, love, and humor.
He took great pleasure in working with kids and enjoyed teaching life lessons at
every opportunity. Fred also loved to laugh, make others laugh, and loved life
in general. He was an avid gardener, and loved fishing and creating new recipes.
He was known for growing the best tomato crops and making world-class homemade
salsa. To hear him tell it, he was also the best fisherman, although he was
known for his fish stories. Fred had a generous heart and did not hesitate to
volunteer or help others, even when his health began to decline. His
determination, courage and service spirit were an inspiration for all that knew
him. His was a life well-lived. We will miss him greatly but find comfort that
he is in his heavenly home.
