Rites Set for Hetty Williams
Services for Hetty Christeen Norrell Williams, a retired first-grade teacher
at Good Elementary School in Carrollton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First
Christian Church of Carrollton. Burial will follow at Round Grove Cemetery in
Lewisville.
Ms. Williams, 75, died Thursday at Brookhaven Nursing Center in Carrollton from
stroke complications.
Her forte was challenging students, said her son, Tony Williams of Farmers
Branch.
"Parents liked her because she instilled spirit and
inquisitiveness to learn in her students," he said. "She just had a way with
people . . . especially children."
Ms. Williams was a native of Caviness, Texas, and graduated from Paris High
School in Paris, Texas, in 1938. She received her bachelor's degree from East
Texas State University in Commerce in the early 1970s. She received her master's
degree there in 1974.
Ms. Williams retired from Good Elementary in 1986.
Other survivors include her sisters, Edith Josey of Cleveland, Texas, and Nettie
Mears of Bethany, Okla.
