OBITUARY
Eloise
Johnson Willis was born to the late Annie and D.O. Johnson in Broaddus,
TX on January 29, 1937. She graduated from Texas Woman's University with
a Bachelors of Education and a Masters in Counseling. Following her
graduation she was an educator for 23 years, serving as the Head of the
Athletics department at Newman Smith High School.
After her love for Christ, her family was her greatest treasure. Eloise
was blessed with a largeand loving family. She married her best friend,
Gerald Willis the day after graduating High School in Orange, TX on May
28, 1955. They were married for 67 and a half wonderful years. Eloise
and Gerald raised three children with patience, discipline and humility.
Eloise later became a grandmother to ten children and a great
grandmother to eight. No words can explain how much joy they brought to
her or how much love she brought to the children.
Eloise spent her entire life serving the lord faithfully. She was a
member of the Valwood Park Baptist Church congregation where she spent
many years teaching, helping and supporting others. Eloise will be
remembered for her kindness, her generosity and living a life modeled
after Christ.
Eloise is survived by her husband Gerald D. Willis, her brother MacNeil
Johnson and wife Sara Johnson, her sister, Linda Dillard and husband
Charlie Dillard, her son Michael Willis, her daughter-in-law Tammy
Willis, her daughter Belinda Kay Wegman, her son-in-law Michael Embree,
her daughter Sheryl Harris and son-in-law Steve Harris. She is also
survived by her grandchildren, Lindsey Sueflow and husband, Luke Sueflow,
Kalen McDaniel and husband, Jeff McDaniel, Emilee Quirroz and husband
Pierre Quirroz, Carsyn Fowler and husband John Fowler, Brooke Alexander
and husband Brad Alexander, Erica Harris, Shelby Wegman, Bubba Harris
and wife Macie Harris, Garrett Wegman, Eli Harris and her great
grandchildren Logan Sueflow, Brenley McDaniel, Ava Quirroz, Lane Sueflow,
Brett McDaniel, Ayden Quirroz, Brayden McDaniel, and Eleanor Fowler. She
is preceded in death by her parents, D.O. and Annie Johnson, her sister
Dorris Sigler, her brother Elroyce Johnson, and her son-in-law, Charlie
Wegman.
