OBITUARY

GREGG ALLEN WILSON
JULY 12, 1963 - JUNE 21, 2021

Gregg Allen Wilson slipped away too soon on June 21 at the age of 57 after struggling with complications from COVID. Gregg was born on July 12, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, and was proud to live in Texas his entire life.
Gregg attended R.L. Turner High School, playing varsity football, and loving every minute of it. Many funny stories during high school revolved around shenanigans with best friends Jim Moyer and Brent Kiszely. After graduating high school in 1981, he headed to the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a degree in architecture. However, it didn’t take him long to discover his true passion for all things computer. He began his IT career with Microsoft in 1998. He went on to be an Exchange Administrator with Bank of America. Most recently Gregg worked at Citibank as Vice President Citi Technology and Infrastructure. He was a valued team member and friend to team members in Singapore, London, Dublin, India, New York, and New Jersey.
Photography was Gregg’s second passion. Very often he could be found behind the lens, and was talented at capturing memories of, and for, family and friends along the way. In fact, one of his favorite quotes was “Life is like a camera, focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot!”
Larger than life, Gregg was beloved by all who knew him. Even in a crowded room, his laughter could be heard above everyone else’s. His unique sense of humor was his trademark. His presence, with his bald head, goatee, and occasional dark sunglasses, was intimidating to some (i.e., Sandy), until they got to know him. Gregg was a gentle soul. He loved everyone, and if you knew him, you loved him too.
Gregg married the love of his life, Amy, on March 4, 1994. He was a loving and devoted father to Emily Melynne and Nicolas Andrew.
Love lives on in those who survive him including his wife Amy, daughter Emily and son Nicolas of Denton, Texas; his parents, CD and Joyce Wilson; sister Cheryl Moore and her husband Roger; aunt JoAnn Wilson; cousins Keith Taylor, Brian Taylor, Eric Wilson and Della Hedrick; mother-in-law Amanda Helt; sisters-in-law Jennifer Helt and Jill Helt; brother-in-law John Helt and his wife Alisha; as well as nieces and nephews including Hannah Elliott, Brandon Wolter, Greg Helt, Madison Helt and Kennedy Helt. He is dancing with those who have predeceased him including his paternal grandparents Ruth and Floyd Wilson; maternal grandparents Lois and Nolan Bilbrey; his beloved uncle and friend Lee Wilson.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us in celebrating Gregg’s life. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 1 at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home, 3550 Firewheel Drive
Flower Mound, TX 75028 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The service will be held Friday, July 2 at Temple Baptist Church, 2501 Northshore Blvd, Flower Mound, TX 75028, at 2:00 PM. Chaplain Randolph Chappell will officiate.
They family would like to thank Gregg’s Cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Eric G. Chang-Tung, for his exceptional sense of humor during an exceedingly difficult time and his valiant effort to help Gregg. Also, a special thank you to the many ICU and IMCU nurses at Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound for their compassion, care, and support.
