Terry Wayne Wood, a
longtime resident of
Carrollton, TX passed
away on February 09,
2025 at the age of 81.
He was at home sitting
in his favorite chair
with his wife next to
him. He had spent the
day visiting with his
children and
grandchildren.
Terry was born on
September 15, 1943 in
Wills Point, TX. He is
survived by his wife
Norma, son Travis and
his wife Julie and
grandchildren, Kendyl,
Treyton and Ryli,
daughter Whitney and
Nick Gerend, his sister
Judy and her husband
David, brother-in-law
Benny Graves,
sister-in-law Kathi and
her husband Bill and
daughter Erin,
brother-in-law Ronnie
and his wife Jimmi and
numerous other nieces,
nephews, cousins and
extended family. He is
preceded in death by his
baby son Kyle, his
parents, Glenn and Elois,
his brother Robert and
his wife Claudette, his
sister Wanda Graves and
his father and
mother-in-law, John &
JoAnn Propes.
He graduated from
Mesquite High School in
1961 and attended the
University of North
Texas. After he left the
university, he joined
the Army and served from
1966-1967. He was a
Vietnam Veteran and was
in the 1st Infantry. His
awards included Combat
Infantry Badge, Airborne
and the Bronze Star.
He loved working around
the house and in his
garden. There was always
plenty of onions, new
potatoes, squash and
more tomatoes than you
could count.
Visitation will be at
11:00 on February 19,
2025 at Metrocrest
Funeral Home 1810 North
Perry Road Carrollton,
TX 75006 with a
graveside service to
follow at Hilltop
Cemetery across the
street at 12:00.
