Glenda was born February 24, 1956 in Carrollton TX to Bolen G. Crawford
and Shirley Wigley Crawford.
Glenda was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt
and friend. Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly in all of her
pursuits in the body of Christ--teaching in the church, coaching Bible
Bowl, writing curriculum. At Holly Frontier, she worked many years as an
accountant, as well as supporting her husband and his practice at
Artesia Animal Clinic in a similar role. She had an uncompromising
passion for Old Testament studies and the beauty of God's encompassing
plan of Salvation. She diligently taught her children about the Truth,
and lived her life in a Godly manner--not remaining stagnant in her
faith, but ever growing deeper in her relationship with Jesus Christ.
Glenda exemplified the wife of Proverbs 31 and strove to love God with
her whole being. She loved music and was known for her beautiful alto
voice.
Throughout the affliction of the disease that took her life so quickly
from us, she maintained a noble outlook and a sweet spirit, never
wavering in her solid faith. She passed peacefully from this life,
holding her husband's hand.
She was preceded in death by her father, and by a brother Michael John
Crawford.
Survivors include her husband Lawrence Dale Young; sons Travis Glen
Young and Jonathan Garrett Young, both of Artesia; a daughter Laura June
and husband Mark Williams of Artesia; mother Shirley Crawford of
Artesia; a sister Marcia Daw of Carrolton, Texas; grandchildren Hannah
Grace, Jonah Markus, and Micah June, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind many extended family members and dear beloved friends
The family has requested that memoral contributions be made to New
Mexico Children's Home in Portales, NM, High Plains Children's Home in
Amarillo, TX, or a charity of your choice.
