Jerry Don Young

Young, Jerry Don Jerry, "the little red baby", was born May 13, 1935 in Royce City, Texas to William and Ruby Young. He went home to be with his Lord on Dec.29, 2011. Jerry married Connie Smith, his high school sweetheart on June 15, 1957 and enjoyed a great marriage and love affair that will always serve as a world class example to all who knew him especially his daughter Susan and husband Scott Coy, his grandson Stephen Coy and wife Chelsea, his granddaughter Sheridan Lang and husband Ben, and his latest joy, his great granddaughter Caroline, his brother Mike Young and wife Margaret, as well as a long list of friends and family that were blessed by his life and friendship. A world class husband, father, grandfather and friend with an infectious personality, sense of humor, and giving spirit, "Big Daddy's" life made us all better people. He will be greatly missed but always remembered. Visitation is at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth Street in Sache, TX on Friday, Dec 30, from 5-7pm. A Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Garland on Saturday, Dec.31 at 10 am. Burial service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Harry Hines Blvd in Dallas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or Watermark Community Church.
