FARMERS
BRANCH TO GET NEW SCHOOL
The Carrollton-Farmers Branch School Board has accepted plans for new 24
classroom, air conditioned elementary school to be build ton the Field
property recently purchased by the school district.
Specifically, the school will be located on 10 acres east of Vivian Field
Junior High School on Tom Field Road and Richland Street. The architect for
the new school is John Thompson who also designed
Central Elementary School.
Plans for construction have been put out for bids and these will be
opened on October 24 at 3 p.m.
The new school will be named the Farmers Branch Elementary School and the
school which currently bears that name will be changed to
Valley View Elementary School.
The School Board has also accepted preliminary plans for an auditorium and
field house to be build on the R. L. Turner campus, Working drawings are to
be completed by Architect Thompson no later than March 1, 1968
