Turner High To Graduate First Class

CARROLLTON, Texas - Kathy Odom will be valedictorian of the first graduating class at newly named R. L. Turner High School in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District. Her 4-year scholastic average if 97.342 per cent. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Odom. Her major at North Texas State University will be pre-medicine.
Class salutatorian is Bartie Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Lewis of Carrollton.  His 4-year average is 96.421. he will enroll at the University of Texas with a major in Spanish or English.
The 178 graduates, the largest class in the school's history, w ill attend commencement exercises Friday at 8 p.m. in the school courtyard. The speaker will be R. H. McLemore, president of Otis Engineering Corp.
Highlighting the program will be the presentation of the Outstanding Student Award by W. K. Russell, school board vice-president.
