A BREAK
FOR LIBERTY Convict Shot at Farmers
Branch Camp by Guard - Made Good Run.
Special to the News.
Farmers Branch, Tex., Dec. 23, This afternoon a colored convict made
a break for liberty at the camp near hear, and was shot by a guard
while running, the charge taking effect in the back of the head. The
prisoner ran about one and one-half miles after being shot, but was
overhauled and given medical and surgical attention. The physician
pronounces his wound quite serious.
