Carrollton To Get Traffic Signal Light County
Commissioners Court has recently ordered five new traffic signal
lights and one of them is for Carrollton and will be installed soon,
The other four are to go one each to Vickery, Mesquite, Buckners
Home and Highway 40, and Eighth and Corinth in Dallas.
There are already ten signal lights in operation in the county
and Sheriff Schmid says he will ask the State Highway Department to
approve those ten and the five new lights. When these have been
approved, Deputy Sheriffs and State Highway Patrolmen will have the
authority to arrest violators who disregard the signals.
The Commissioners County has contracted to purchase a fire
truck and supply it to the city of Dallas in return for the city
giving fire protection service to points in the county outside the
city. The truck price is reported as being $17,416.20. Deliver of
the truck is not expected before February of 1938.
The County Commissioners Court has approved the appointment of
two deputy constables for Precinct No. 2. under Constable W. W.
Parker. The new appointees are H. A. Coonrod and Bill Cox.
