OBITUARY
 
AVERETT, Charles Lloyd Charles Lloyd Averett, 79, of Carrollton, Texas, began his journey to heaven on Monday, March 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of nearly 62 years, Deanna Berndt Averett; his son, Charles Michael Averett, daughter-in-law Becky Averett and two grandchildren, Chad Averett and Jeremy Averett, all of Carrollton, TX; and his two sisters, Donnie and Barbara (sister) Hedrick of Chandler, TX and David and Jeannie (sister) and Dava (niece) Repka of Midlothian, TX. Charles was the son of Lloyd and Christine Averett. A longtime resident of Carrollton, Charles attended Carrollton High School, served in the Coast Guard and was a longtime employee of Braniff International Airways, later moving to Dalfort Aviation where he retired. Charles was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Carrollton Lodge and a member of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton. He was also an avid hunter, having many large bucks and a polar bear he shot in the Arctic Circle in his collection. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home in Farmers Branch on Fri, March 10 from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at The Garden of Trinity at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery of Dallas on Sat, March 11 at 10 am. The family request that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to The Salvation Army, Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Daystar or the charity of your choice .
