OBITUARY

Vicki Ann Bacon
April 11, 1960 ~ February 10, 2021 (age 60)

Vicki Ayers was born on April 11, 1960 in Rankin, Texas to Bernie and Alta Stence Ayers. She lived in Iraan, Texas until she was 11 years old, when her family moved to Farmers Branch, Texas. In 1976, Vicki and her parents moved to Longview, Texas, where she graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1978. Vicki next attended Dallas Christian College to study Secretarial Sciences. Here, she met her soulmate, Fred Bacon, whom she married December 19, 1980 at the Central Christian Church in Longview, Texas by her father, Pastor Bernie Ayers.

To this couple, Michael David Bacon was born on July 17, 1984 in Rankin, Texas. Michael married Maggie Bustamante on April 14, 2012. Michael and Maggie gave birth to Vicki's first grandbaby on May 30, 2018. His name is Grayson and he brought Vicki great joy.

Fred and Vicki have spent their 40 years together serving God through pastoring churches in Iraan, Texas; Borger, Texas; Hydro, Oklahoma; Phillipsburg, Kansas; and Mesquite, Texas. Vicki had two great loves in her church work. She loved music and has led countless people in worship over the years. She and some friends formed a quartet called "Harmony." Vicki also loved working with high school aged young people. She has remained in touch with men and women from every youth group she has had since 1982.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 40 years, Fred Bacon; son, Michael Bacon and wife Maggie; grandson, Grayson Bacon; her parents, Bernie and Alta Ayers; her brother Gary Ayers and his wife, Pat; mother-in-law, Martha Bacon; many other family and friends.

Her Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 13, for family and a few friends. Due to the terrible virus that took her life, attendance will be limited, masks and social distancing will be observed.
