Friendly Carrollton Rivals

CARROLLTON, Texas.  Jan 30 - Friendliness of rivals are these captains of opposing baseball teams in the grade school here.  Their teams play each other frequently, will eventually decide the school championship.  The yard, left to right, Charles Sikes, captain of the sixth-grade team, and James Emory Berryhill, leader of the seventh graders. They were choosing batting order when the above photo was snapped.

CARROLLTON, Texas. - Word has been received that James Emory Berryhille, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Berryhill, has been promoted to seaman first class. He enlisted in the Navy in June upon being graduated from the Carrollton High School. He received training at the Naval Base, San Diego, Calif., and is now stationed at the Armed Guards Center at San Francisco, Calif.

Ruth Colwell Bride of James Berryhill
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Colwell of Coppell have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Ruth Colwell to James E. Berryhill, seaman 1-c, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Berryhill, Carrollton. The Rev. H. M. Cowling read the ceremony Dec. 4 in Rockwall. The mothers of the couple attended the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Berryhill will live in California, where he is to be stationed. They are graduates of Carrollton High School. The bridegroom was on duty in the South Pacific for fifteen months.
