Rites Scheduled For L. F. Blanton

CARROLLTON - Funeral services for L. F. Blanton, 70, of 1500 Belt Line Road, owner and operator of Blanton Grain Co. here and a 27 year member of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School Board, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas.
Blanton, who was born in Shawnee, Kan., died here Thursday. he had been a resident of Carrollton for 40 years. He retired in 1966 after 30 years as owner of the grain company.
Blanton served on the school board here from 1940 to 1967 and was president and board chairman of the Dallas County State Bank in Carrollton.
A 32nd degree mason, Blanton was a member of the Hella Temple Shrine and  the First United Methodist Church here.
