OBITUARY
Father Died in Kansas
W. F. Blanton, father of L. F.
Blanton of the Carrollton Feed Mill, died at his home in Shawnee, Kansas,
Tuesday morning about 3 o'clock. Mr. L. F. Blanton had word some ten days ago
that his father was sick and had planned to go there and spend Thanksgiving at
home and see him. Sunday night a message was received stating that the father
was very low and following that on Monday morning came work to Come at Once. Mr.
Blanton and his son Walter and daughter Betty, at once started north, driving in
their car. They left here at 10 o'clock Monday morning and shortly before 1
o'clock the next morning were in Shawnee, a short distance out of Kansas City.
The arrived a couple of hours before the death of the father, tho it was a hard
strenuous drive thru a rain most of the way. The elder Blanton was 75 years of
age and had never had a sick spell of any consequence but when taken sick a few
weeks ago with a heart attack he failed rapidly and the end came quickly.
Mr. L. F. Blanton and his children will remain there until after the funeral and
most likely be home Monday morning.
