Surprise Birthday Dinner
Fyke Brake was given a surprise birthday dinner last Sunday. Several boy
friends and relatives were present to partake of a bountiful dinner. Fyke was on
that day fifteen years old and we're wondering how "long" he will be by the time
he is twenty one if he continues to mount upward in statue as he is now doing.
In the afternoon the birthday cake was cut, out in the yard in the shade of a
large tree. It contained all the "Ingredients" that a birthday cake should, and
we have forgotten who got the ring but we know Fyke, himself cutting a huge
slice (as boys will) found himself possessor of the dime and button. We don't
know exactly how to explain this, but we would say he will be a rich old
bachelor. Many happy returns of the day.
