MRS. LONA SMITH AND MISS ANNIE PERRY ENTERTAIN FOOTBALL BOYS AFTER GRAND PRAIRIE GAME

Eats! Oh, boy! Turkey, dressing, cranberries and -- well all the goodies that go with a real honest-to-goodness feed.  The occasion was a banquet given by Mrs. Lona Smith and Miss Annie Perry at Mrs. Smith's home north of town, honoring the football boys.  The banquet came as a reward to the boys for their excellent playing Thursday with Grand Prairie. The score was 0 to 6 in OUR favor -- of course.  The Grand Prairie boys were game.  They fought until the last whistle and left with pleasant feelings both ways.
The boys have played six games this season winning five out of the six, good!
The evening was spent in playing games and eating.  Dinner was served to the following couples: Fyke Brake and Tessie Seaman, Lindall Libby and Johnnie Lois Warner, Tom Vandergriff and Charles Mayes, Gordon Vandergriff and Gladys Perry, Clyde Mayes and Louise Perry, Allen Good and Ora Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Admirel Cromer, Frank Tutt and Cecil Cromer, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cunningham, of Lewisville, Fitzhugh Penyon and Glenn Perry, Manard Ford and Connie Hardcastle, Allen Good, Willette Fancher, Eulys Bishop and Elsie Whitlock, Leland Perry and Fern Humphery, of Fort Worth, Alvin Aly, Paul Hardcastle, Homer Whitlock, Burnette Perry, Clint Vinson, Willie Smith, Neal Smith and Sidney Noel.
The boys and their sweethearts and friends also want to thank Mr. Davis for the two cases of soda water he gave the boys. Some of it was real old country red too.  And last but for from least, the boys and guests desire to thank Mrs. Smith and miss Annie Perry. One of the guests says "We only hope that someone else will be as kind," and the general hint is dropped that Christmas is coming, and with it hungry times, and more games.
