William Neal Brooks Sr. (Bill) of Carrollton, Texas

Bill was born on September 18, 1947 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Edward Dee Brooks and Gertrude Brooks/Shauchunas, and stepfather Peter Shauchunas.

Bill is survived by wife, Linda (Susie) Brooks of Carrollton Texas; three children, William Neal Brooks II (Lil Bill) of Justin Texas, Amber and Haley of Carrollton Texas; five grandchildren, Rachel, Emma, Kimber, Eli and Drew. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Dee Brooks II of Palestine Texas; three stepbrothers, David Haas of Balch Springs, Texas, Michael Haas of Washington State, Bobby Shauchunas of Texas; sisters-in-law, Alice Brooks of Kaufman, Texas, Shirley Seay of Carrollton, Texas, Sandi Burt of Farmers Branch, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard & Dottie Powell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Bob) Brooks.

Bill served for our country in the United States Army with 3 tours in the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of 3 Purple Hearts along with other honors. He was a professional truck driver as well as a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved fishing, motorcycles and drag racing. He will be missed dearly by all his family and beloved pets.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at North Dallas Funeral Home, followed by military burial with honors at 12:30 pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas Texas 75211.
