OBITUARY
Brown,
Nell Gulder Nell Gulder Brown, 87, long-time resident of Farmers
Branch/Carrollton, Texas, passed away with her family by her side
Saturday, September 1, 2012. She was born November 14, 1924, in Rock
Island, Illinois, and grew up in Burbank, California. Nell moved to
Texas following her marriage to Charlie Edward Brown, who preceded her
in death in 2002. Nell taught 2nd grade from 1967 - 1987 at
Central Elementary
in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch I.S.D. She was active in the Farmers
Branch Women's Club, the Farmers Branch Poetry Society, and various
bridge groups. She loved her travels, her garden, and genealogy. Nell
was an avid rock hound and bird watcher. In later years, Nell enjoyed
simple pleasures of day trips, card games and movies with her daughters.
Also, she cherished her beloved cat, Missy. She especially found joy in
watching her grandchildren grow into adulthood. Nell is survived by her
four daughters: Robin Logan and husband, Randall; Jana Brown; Christa
Brown and husband, Jim Hill; and Leslie Brown. Four grandchildren: Amy
Logan Smith; Barry Logan; Mandy Logan; and Stacy Brownhill; and one
great-granddaughter, Logan Smith. Visitation will be held Thursday,
September 6th, at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton between 6-8 p.m. A
Celebration of Life service is scheduled at the Rhoton Chapel on Friday,
September 7th, at 1:30 p.m., with burial to follow at
Hilltop Memorial Park
in Carrollton. Nell was a breast cancer survivor, but her favorite
charities were the Operation Kindness in Carrollton and the Smile Train. |
