On August 12, 2019 Rose Ann Allison Buell peacefully entered into the
gates of heaven at William P. Clements University Hospital with her
loving family at her side. She was born in Dallas on November 13, 1935
to Joe M. Allison, M.D. and Rosa Gahagan Thornhill Allison. Rose Ann
exhibited an early love of art by taking Saturday morning classes at
Fair Park's Museum of Art while her mother and younger sisters fed bread
to the ducks. Rose Ann’s faith in God was unshakeable. She was known for
doing “chalk talks”, setting up an easel and using colored chalks to
sketch a cross while “The Old Rugged Cross.” played. Rose Ann attended
Grapevine High School and was active in Young Life. She engaged in
mischief when she and her fellow classmates wrote “1953” on the new
Grapevine Dam, taking pictures to commemorate the event! She was awarded
the “Good Citizenship” medal upon graduation. Her English teacher
suggested that she find a college roommate who was a good speller. Rose
Ann attended North Texas State College and graduated from Texas Women’s
University in 1956. Thereafter, she did mission work in California and
returned to marry Richard Buell on August 25, 1956. They had two
children: Debra Allison Buell Rucker and Brian Kelly Buell. Rose Ann

underwater ballet team in college, she became a certified Red Cross
Swimming instructor and taught swimming classes. She taught Art for
twenty years at DeWitt

Middle schools in the Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD. In her retirement,
she sold Beauty Control products. She was an active member of First
Baptist Church Carrollton former member of Rosemeade Baptist Church and

for lunch to celebrate birthdays. After losing Richard in 1999, Rose Ann
experienced the joy of being a widow and doing what she wanted. Rose Ann
loved being a member of the Lamplighters Widow’s Group. She was very
closely connected to her family, whether the need was to babysit kids or
dogs but most definitely always keeping ice cream in the freezer for Tom
and Kristy. She brought Chick-fil-A meals to Preston before his football
and basketball games. Rose Ann was always very deliberate in making ANY
decision. She wanted to be sure that she had all the facts before taking
action. Politically, she was a staunch conservative and believed in the
goodness of all people. She was a member of the Dallas County Republican
Party and the Grapevine Historical Society. Rose Ann was a beloved,
