BURNETT
ANDREW J - 1870 - 1950
ELIZABETH 1873 - 1926

Keenan Cemetery, Farmers Branch, Dallas County, Texas

Notes:

  • Son of Andrew Burnett & Frances Emaline (Burns) Burnett; Husband of Elizabeth Emaline (Pemberton) Burnett
  • Pete's daughter Eunice that Pete stepped in the campfire on the way to Texas, burning his foot severely and that he didn't walk for about 2 years after that and always walked with a limp.
Eunice said they came to Texas by wagon train in about 1877.  The family lived among or near the Foster family for many years.  Aunt Cinthia (Riley's sister) claimed to be the granddaughter of Cynthia Ann Parker, which minimal research disavows, so I assume there may have been a "extended family" type relationship there.  Cinthia did marry into the Foster family, as did Pete's step-sister, Amy Hoffner.  Pete's brother Henry Alex died at the age of 12.  Their younger half-sister, Lovie Caroline, married James Rasberry and is also buried at Keenan.  Pete was named after his father and after President Jackson.   ..info from Charlotte Cawell
