OBITUARY W. H. Butler,
Physician, Dies Dr.
William H. Butler, 86, a native Texan who practiced medicine over fifty years,
died Thursday at his home, 6915 San Mateo, after a long illness.
He was born at Farmers Branch and was educated in the Louisville, KY., Medical
University. In 1946, he received an award from the Louisville university for
fifty years of medical service.
Dr. Butler practiced medicine in Farmers Branch for a number of years and later
moved to West Texas.
He returned to Dallas in 1918 and operated the W. H. Butler & Son Drugstore,
Fitzhugh and Terry, along with his practice. He retired five years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at East Dallas Baptist Church,
with the Rev. Pressley Hand and the Rev. Earl Anderson officiating. Burial will
be in Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, J. Griggs Butler of Dallas and Coyt E. Butler
of Westbrook, Mitchell County; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wright and Mrs.
Oscar Nell Pribble, both of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. John Good and Mrs. Jim
Good, both of Farmers Branch, and Mrs. Watt Good of Krum, Denton County; eleven
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Wayne Good, Frank Good, Chester Good, Oran
