OBITUARY CALHOUN
MARVIN LEE, 64, of Trenton, TX passed away on September 7, 2003 at home
surrounded by his family. Marvin was born in Lawton, OK and grew up in
Farmers Branch, TX. He graduated in 1957 from Carrollton High School and
was a retired manager for Hunsaker Truck Lease in Dallas. Marvin is
survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen Louise Calhoun of Trenton, TX; daughter
Eva and husband David Bell of Irving, TX; daughter Donna and husband Rob Cole of
The Colony, TX; son Brian Calhoun and wife Patricia of Wylie, TX; sister Lilly
Warren of Kaufman, TX; grandchildren Joshua Bell, Alexandra Cole, Caleb
Calhoun, Trenton Calhoun and Laura Fitch; great-grandchild Matthew Fitch;
mother-in-law Lorene and husband Jeff Davis of Grapevine, TX; father-in-law
Marion White and wife Martha of Carrollton, TX; aunts Mary Cole and Jane Newland
of Tuttle, OK; brother-in-law Glen White and wife Darlene of Bonham, TX;
brother-in-law Bobby White and wife Gayla of Coppell, TX; numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Barney
Marvin and Marjorie Marie Dunn Calhoun of Farmers Branch, TX and his brother
Charles Curtis Calhoun of Aubrey, TX. Marvin was a past president of the Farmers
Branch Jaycees and officer of the Texas State Jaycees, past member of a local
gem & mineral club and amateur lapidarist, Club Scout leader, assistant peewee
football coach, past member of the Farmers Branch Boxing Club and regional
golden gloves champion, past member and officer of the Circle C Riding Club.
Marvin played semi-professional football for a short time, played city-league
baseball and was an avid traveler. He was very proud of his Chickasaw heritage
and his grandchildren were his greatest source of joy. Services will be
2:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham. Burial
will be in Willow Wild Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cooper-Sorrells
Funeral Home Monday night from 7-8 pm.

Trenton, Texas - Funeral services for Marvin Lee Calhoun, age 64, of Trenton,
Texas will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home,
Bonham. Burial will be in Willow Wild Cemetery. Mr. Calhoun passed away on
September 7, 2003, at home in Trenton with his family surrounding him.
He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma the son of Barney Marvin and Marjorie Marie Dunn
Calhoun, Farmers Branch, Texas. He graduated in 1957 from Carrollton High School
and was a retired manager for Hunsaker Truck Lease in Dallas. He married Helen
Louise Calhoun in 1960.
Mr. Calhoun was a past president of the Farmers Branch Jaycees and officer of
the Texas State Jaycees, past member of a local gem and mineral club and amateur
lapidarist, Cub Scout leader, assistant peewee football coach, past member of
the Farmers Branch Boxing Club and regional Golden Gloves champion, past member
and officer of the Circle C Riding Club. Marvin played semi-professional

Family visitation is from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2003 at
