OBITUARY
 
Julia Mae Coburn
Coburn , Julia Mae Dallas -- Julia Ledbetter Coburn, 87, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2010. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Southwood Methodist Church, Oakcliff. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials: Donations may be made to Soothwood Methodist Church. Julia Mae was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Carrolton, to Elector and Eugenia Ledbetter. Of nine children, Julia was the second youngest. She was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts. She enjoyed treasure hunting for antiques. Julia volunteered as a tutor for elementary schools and had a Long Career in the lab, working as a Medical Technologist and raising two boys. Julia was founding member of Southwood Methodist Church. She attended North Texas Agricultural College 1941, Baylor University 1945, were she earned a degree in "Medical Technology", UTA 1977, and Dallas Baptist University 1976 where she earned a "Bachelor of Career Arts". She was a Member of National Guardetts during World War II, where she met her husband of 50 years, Herbert D Coburn. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1994. Survivors: Sons, Herbert Bryant Coburn, Randall Nye Coburn and his wife, Kaiyan Liu; Grandsons, Justin Bryant Coburn and his wife, Esther Arce who have a baby girl on the way, Kendall Bruce Coburn; granddaughter, Melissa Ann Coburn; sister-in-law, Virginia Ledbetter; sister, Marjorie Yelton.
