OBITUARY Geo. Culpepper
Buried Tuesday
George Evans Culpepper, 86, the father of G. W. Culpepper and Frances
Frances Reneau of Carrollton, died Sunday at Restful sanatorium following a long
illness and confinement to his bed for the past three years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 at the Union Baptist church, with Rev.
Arthur Freeman officiating.
Mr. Culpepper was born July 3, 1873, at Mt. Pleasant in Titus county. He had
lived in Carrollton for the past 14 years and before moving here resided in
Durant, Okla.
He made his home with Mrs. Reneau until a year and a half ago when he was taken
to Restful sanatorium.
Survivors of Mr. Culpepper include: four sons, Mark of Durant, Okla.; Ross of
Harrison, Arkansas; G. W. of Carrollton; and Vernon Paul of the army; three
daughters, Mrs. Alpha Maberry of Carrollton; Mrs. Leah Prentice of Fort Worth;
and Mrs. Frances Reneau of Carrollton; and 24 grandchildren.
Burial will be made at Perry cemetery, with Rhoton Funeral Home handling
arrangements.
Pallbears were: Roy Flowers and Bob Calvanger of Dallas, Bill Flowers of
Sherman, Alf Prentice of Durant, Okla., Raymond Lewis of McKinney and Kenneth
Borchardt, a grandson of the deceased.
