PVT. Willie Emerson Dennis, son of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Dennis, Farmers Branch, Texas.  Entered the service May 27, 1918. Trained at Camp Cody, New Mexico.  Assigned to Machine Gun Battalion of the 34th Division.  Transferred to 30th Division.  Overseas September, 1918.  Armistice prevented service at the front.  Discharged April, 1919

OBITUARY

Willie Emmerson Dennis, 11433 Goodnight Lane, Dallas. Survived by wife, Mrs. Mable Dennis of Dallas; daughter Mrs. Eunice Tafelski; son Harold Wayne Dennis, Carrollton; brothers, Dibb Dennis, Perlo Dennis, both of Farmers Branch; sisters, Mrs. Jacie Fletcher, Farmers Branch; Mrs. Flora Burgess, Mrs. Minnie Fletcher, both of Dallas; seven grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, in the Field City Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Hand officiating. Interment was in the Farmers Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Fletcher, Bobby Fletcher, Homer Thompson, George Dennis, Edgar Burgess and Ray Burgess with Rhoton. Weiland-Merritt Funeral Home in Charge.
