OBITUARY DOBECKA
STEPHEN, 87, died Friday, Sept. 27, at the Ennis Care Center. He was born Dec.
16, 1912 in Carrollton, the son of Frank and Mary Naizer Dobecka. He was reared
in Coppell where he attended school. After finishing school he worked on the
family farm. On Jan. 5, 1937 he was married to Mary Agnes Kozlovsky of Taylor.
After their marriage they loved in Dallas County. He was a self-employed
plumber, retiring in 1974. In 1988 they moved to Ennis. He was a member of St
Johns Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, SPJST in Dallas and the Golden
Circle. He is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Eddie and Merlene Dobecka of
Waco, Jodie and Marie Dobecka of Canton; a daughter and her husband, Anna and
John Slovacek of Ennis; a brother and his wife, Johnny and
Vicki Dobecka of
Coppell 16 grandchild; and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents 3 brothers, Lewis Dobecka, Frank Dobecka and Cecil Dobecka, 3
sisters, Agnes Prasifka, Louise Prasifka and Mary Kozlovsky, a daughter, Betty
Hines and a grand-daughter, Elizabeth Hines. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM
Sunday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at
1 PM Monday in St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Keever
Mortuary.

HIS WIFE'S OBITUARY
MARY A. DOBECKA
Mrs. Mary A. Dobecka, 85, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Ennis Care
Center. She was born Sept. 8, 1918 in Mesquite, the daughter of J.M. and Agnes
Zgarba Kozlovsky. She was reared in Mesquite where she attended school. On Jan.
5, 1937 she was married to Stephen Dobecka of Carrollton. After their marriage
they lived in Mesquite. In 1962 they moved to Mesquite where they owned and
operated Mary’s Nursery from 1983 to 1988. In 1988 they moved to Ennis. Mr.
Dobecka preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2000. She was a member of St. Johns
Catholic Church. She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Addie and Marelene
Dobecka of Waco, Jodie and Marie Dobecka of Hawkins; a daughter and her husband,
Anna and John Slovacek of Ennis; 5 brothers, Joe Kozlovsky of Waco, Dan
Kozlovsky of Port Ritchey, FL, Edmond Kozlovsky of Mesquite, Bernard Kozlovsky
of Rockwall and Louis Kozlovsky of Ennis; a sister, Albertina Grooms of
Lynchburg, VA; 13 grand-children; and 20 great grand-children. She was preceded
in death by a daughter, Betty Hines, 2 granddaughters, 3 brothers and one
sister. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of
the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Johns
Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Interment will be in St.
Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Serving as
pallbearers will be Charles Kozlovsky, Gary Kozlovsky, Kenneth Kozlovsky, Sam
Axxon, Zack Dobecka, Bill Little, Donnie Kozlovsky and William Kozlovsky
