OBITUARY

DODSON
MAUDE EVELYN, 102, passed away on October 9, 1998. She was born on September 8, 1896 in Malakoff, Texas. Maude married William F. Dodson, also from Malakoff and they moved to Dallas in 1917.  In 1936, due to the depression, they moved to Farmers Branch. In the mid forties, her husband helped incorporate the town and he was the first mayor. He passed away in 1949. Maude was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch which is located on William F. Dodson Parkway.  She was very active in the church and enjoyed gardening and bridge. Her homestead of nine acres now comprises one half of the City of Farmers Branch Historical Park. Maude is survived by son, William Smith Dodson; Three grandchildren, Delaine Murphy and husband Michael, Michele Carroll and husband Anthony and Wes Dodson and wife Diane; Great grandchildren, Kristen and Meagan Murphy, Anthony Jr. and Meredith Carroll; and numerous relatives. Private services were held at Hillcrest Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
