ARTICLE

MISS HARRISON, JUNE GRADUATE, IS HONORED

Miss Doris Ruth Harrison, June graduate of Carrollton High School, was honored with a luncheon Saturday by Miss Marcia McClellan at her home 12411 Denton Drive.
Pink and white flowers decorated the living and dining room. An arrangement of daisies and larkspur centered the dining table which was laid with a pink linen cloth.
Miniature girl graduates marked the places of the honoree and the following guests: Misses Myrna Nell Bullock, Marianne Gulden, Peggy Tietge, Panita Jones, Mrs. Allen Grindstaff, and Miss LuWane Asher of Cameron. Miss Asher Is the roommate of Miss McClellan at Baylor University.
Miss McClellan was assisted by her mother and her aunt, Miss Ola Good.

WEDDING

BRIDAL SHOWER HONORS MISS DORIS HARRISON

Miss Doris Harrison, bride-elect of Laymond N. Ford, was honored Monday night in a bridal shower given in the spacious home of Mrs. John H. Burns, Carrollton.
Pink and white carnations with pink streamers bearing the names of the bride-elect and groom-to-be centered the luncheon table.
The gifts were arranged on and around a large teacart, beautifully decorated in pink and white.
Games were played and refreshments served to a number of guests. Many nice gifts were presented to the honoree.

Doris Ford
1937-2021

FORD, Doris Doris Ruth (Harrison) Ford of Haslet, Texas died on December 18, 2021, of natural causes at the age of 84. Doris was born at home on February 1, 1937, and died at home under hospice care. Her husband, Air Force Lt. Col. (Retired) Laymond N. Ford, Sr., died on April 15, 1997. Her older brother, James Everett Harrison and his wife, Elaine (Hamilton) Harrison survives. Her father, Everett Harrison, was a transportation driver for the Dallas Transit System and her mother, Rachel (Freiley) Harrison, was a homemaker with excellent cooking and sewing skills. Doris graduated from Carrollton High School in May 1955. After her marriage on May 18, 1956, and after living in Carrollton for several years, Laymond and Doris were transferred to various Air Force locations in Abilene, TX, Minot, ND, Fort Worth, TX, and Guam, a U.S. territory. While being an Air Force wife and mother, Doris maintained the household, financial affairs, and family activities, as well as becoming an expert at packing and unpacking. When Doris returned to Texas in 1977, she worked at various law firms in Fort Worth, retiring in the late 1990's, then moving to Coppell and later to Haslet. Doris was a Christian believer and married at First Baptist Church in Farmers Branch. While living in Coppell, she was an active member of Sandy Lake Road Baptist Church. Other Ford Family survivors include daughters, Linda Kathleen "Katie" Ford, Patricia "Trish" Anne Ford, and Jennifer Suzanne (Ford) Friedrich, who died on April 19, 2017, by surviving widower, Darrell Friedrich, and grandsons, Corwyn and Devyn from San Antonio. Sons include Laymond "Skip" N. Ford, Jr. with wife, Jennifer (Sesvold) and grandchildren, Christopher Taylor Ford and Elizabeth Ruth Ford; Jonathan Edward Ford with wife, Stacy (Webb; Schultz), and grand-daughter, Lauren Taylor Ford; and James "Jim" Howard Ford. A great-grandson, Joshua Philip Ford, is another survivor. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 10 am at Church Angels Funeral Home (by Hulen Mall), 6301 Granbury Road, Fort Worth, TX 76133. After cremation, Doris will be buried by her husband at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at a later date. It is recommended that flowers be obtained from Northside Florist, 512 West Central Avenue, Fort Worth, TX, phone 817-626-5464.
