OBITUARY ALBERT HARPOOL DEPARTS THIS LIFE
Albert L. Harpool of Hebron, prominent farmer and leader in community life,
died at 1:10 Sunday afternoon of pneumonia. He leaves a wife, a son and two
daughters to mourn his loss. Mrs. Raglin of Dallas, Miss Ruby and A. L. junior,
the two later residing at home.
Deceased would have been 39, years old next July. He was a member of the Baptist
church since he was 14 years old, and had always been active in church work and
any other worthy enterprise of the community. He was a Sunday school teacher for
eight years and was superintendent of the Baptist Sunday school at Hebron and
conducted the school the Sunday previous to his death, having been sick but
about four days.
He was married to Miss Jennie Cook 21 years ago, was one of the high officers in
the Masonic lodge and a prominent Woodman; was well thought of by everybody and
had a host host of close friends. Besides his own family he leaves a father,
Charlie Harpool, and a mother, who live on the Harpool home place and a brother,
Tom, who is in business at Hebron. The body was buried in the
Frankfort cemetery, the local
Masons having charge of the ceremony. The floral offerings were immense in point
of quantity and exquisite in beauty. A large number of relatives and friends
attended the funeral but the wife, mother and brother of the deceased were
unable to attend, being sick with influenza at the time. Since then Tom Harpool
is said to have developed pneumonia. Charles Harpool, the father, took his bed
next day ill with influenza.
C. Cook and daughter of Ochiltree, Okla., father and sister of Mrs. Harpool
arrived here a day too late, owing to the slow delivery of telegrams sent them.
Our sympathy goes out to the bereaved family. May the Great One above help them
and lighten their burden. The Carrollton Chronicle - Friday, February
13, 1920
