OBITUARY Mrs. W. Roy Hastings
Funeral services for Mrs. W. Roy (Swampy) Hastings, 60, of 3540 Villaverde,
a life-long Dallas resident, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Restland
Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
She died Monday in a Dallas hospital.
In the early 1930s, Mrs. Hastings played on a nationally famous women's
basketball team with Babe Didrikson Zaharias. She was also a member of Texas
Bowling Association.
Her father, T. J. Marsh, was one of
the pioneers of Dallas and Marsh Lane was named after him.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bill Hastings and Tom Hastings; and one
grandson.
