OBITUARY
 
Clara Bell Rothfus Hensley
Hensley, Clara Bell Rothfus Clara Bell Rothfus was born on February 8, 1919 in Sachse, Texas, to J.G. and Annie Rothfus. She resided in Carrollton from 1932 through 1936, graduating from Carrollton High School in 1936. She later moved to Collin County where she graduated from McKinney City Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. Clara married Terence L. "Terry" Hensley on March 29, 1947 in McKinney, who expired on October 12, 1964. She was employed as a registered nurse at several local hospitals and as a school nurse for three years in Hunt County. Clara retired on April 13, 1984 from Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She was a member of the Board of Nurse Examiners for the state of Texas, American Red Cross Nursing Services, Greenville Chapter No. 189 Order of the Easter Star, American Association of Retired Persons, and Northrich Baptist Church in Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 siblings, and 2 grandsons. Clara is survived by her children, George E. Hensley and Paul R. Hensley; grandchildren, Trisha Phillips, Shelli Gentry, Brian Hensley, and Traci Gandara; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Dollie Kissinger, Martha Boyd, Mary Barger, Virginia McKissick, and Jerry Edwards; her brothers, Johnny Rothfus and David Rothfus; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a life-long friend, Helen Crockett. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland's Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
