W. A. Kelley, Hebron. Survived by wife, Mrs. Edith Kelley, Hebron; sons, W.
A. Kelley, Jr., Addison; Marland Kelley, New Braunfels; daughters, Mrs. Novella
Dodd, Mrs. Rachel Dozier, Mrs. Lucy Jernigan, Mrs. Lillian Sewell,
Mrs. Betty
Morris, all of Hebron, 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter
Kelley, Rogersville, Ala.; sisters Mrs. Mettie Denton, Mrs. Flora Hale, Mrs.
Bessie Crawford, Mrs. Verdie Mae Womack, McMinnville, Tenn. Services were held
in the Hebron Baptist Chruch Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Force, Rev. Milton
Ferguson,and Rev. Don L. Holems officiating. Interment was in
Cemetery Hill. Pallbearers
were Pascel McClary, Morris Lord, Cleve Curtis, J. D. Brown, Calvin Davis, Irvin
Crider, Robert W. Wood, Clarence M. Johnson with Rhoton-Weiland-Merritt Funeral
Home in Charge.

BIOGRAPHY
 William
Arthur "W.A." Kelley was the fourth of the eight children born to
Bethel A. Kelley and
Lucy J. Ward.
In October 1910 William Arthur Kelley came to Mount Calm, Texas to take
Hannah Edith Jones as his bride. He had known Edith long before the
Jones family left Tennessee to come to Texas and had made the remark to
several of his friends that he was going to marry "that little red
headed girl when she grew up". They were married 26 October 1910. In
January 1912, W.A. and Hannah Edith Kelley, with their first born baby (Thirzie
Novella) came to Hebron on a train and settled on the Furneaux ranch.
W.A. and Edith moved several times back to Tennessee. The last two weeks
in December of 1929 they loaded their Model T truck and Model T car with
their personal belongings and seven children and headed for Texas to
stay. It took fourteen days to make the long journey. On January 1, 1930
they arrived at Hebron and settled on the Harry Lord farm, three miles
west of Hebron.
In 1935 they moved to Forney, Texas. After eight years they moved back
to Hebron, bought their home and lived their until their deaths.
Together, they had eight children: Thirzie Novella, Willie Rachel,
William Austin, the twins
Clyde Garland and
James Marland, Lucy Ieleene, Bessie Lillian, and
Betty Jean.
