OBITUARY
Leslie
(Gene) Eugene Lampier
July 3, 1937 - June 5, 2025
Leslie Eugene Lampier, 87, of Scurry, TX passed away on June 5, 2025, at
home. Gene, as he was affectionately known as, was born on July 3, 1937,
in Teague, TX. He grew up in Farmers Branch and graduated from Carrolton
High School in 1956. Gene married Wathenia Lewis on March 6, 1959, and
they spent a loving 66 years together. He worked as a diesel mechanic
for 35 years. He enjoyed racing cars and won the Texas Nationals in 1957
in Caddo Mills, Texas. He also raced go-carts and won many races, but
riding horses was his favorite. He loved competing in playdays and won
many saddles. Gene loved his family, and he loved going to the horse
races and trail riding. He also loved playing 42 and any card game. He
was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and
Brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Eloise
Neeley, daughter Andi Lampier, son-in-law Don Braudrick and brothers
Ronnie Neeley and James
Lampier. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Wathenia, daughter
Monique Braudrick, grandchildren: Justin Braudrick, Brandon Wilson and
wife Taylor, and Britni Allison; great grandchildren: Brynley Wilson,
Cooper Wilson, Rebel Wilson, and Jensen Braudrick; brother Donald
Lampier and wife Linda, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and
friends who will miss him dearly. |
