OBITUARY
Mrs. Liles Passes Away
Mrs. L. C. Liles of Carrollton, for over forty years a resident of Texas
and the major portion of that time a resident of this community, passed to the
Great Beyond and her reward, this week, dying at her home in Carrollton at 6:45
a.m. Tuesday, Feb 3, 1931, aged 75 years, two months and eleven days. Her maiden
was Megenia Fulks and she was born in Glascoe, Ky., Nov. 20, 1855.
December 8, 1875, she was married to L. C. Liles and then in 1890 they came to
Texas where they made their home. The husband died in November 1929. She leaves
three sons; Walter, Roy, and Willie; one grandson, Clifton Liles, all of this
place; and one brother, Willie Fulks of Wisdome, Ky.
Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Union Baptist church,
of which she was a devoted member, Rev. L. M. Joines, the pastor, being in charge
of the services. A former pastor, Rev. Earl Anderson, preached the sermon. Mrs.
Anderson was at the piano and Rev. Jones sang a special number. Rev. W. N.
Vernon read the scripture lesson and Rev. Hall said the prayer. Pall Bearers
were Sid Huffhines of Richardson, Frank Burgesss, J. B. Gravley, E. H. Bishop,
Walter Kennedy, Burnett Perry all fo this place. Interment was in the
Farmers
Branch cemetery besides the husband who preceded her. Lucas Undertaking Co. were
in charge of the funeral.
Mrs. Liles had lived a good life and did her part to make the world a better
place in which to live. Her friends were all those who knew her. "And her
children shall rise up and call her blessed."
