Death Claims Mrs. J. T. McCormick, 100 In Carrollton

Largely attended funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hebron Baptist Church for Mrs. J. T. (Aunt Nancy) McCormick, 100 years old, who was Dallas County's oldest living Baptist. She celebrated her 100th birthday last August 23 and passed away on Wednesday at her home in Carrollton.

She was the mother of Mrs. J. T. Salmon of Plano.

Interment was in Cemetery Hill, Denton County.
Mrs. McCormick was born in Jackson County, Ala., and was married there at the age of 15 to Henry Isom. The couple moved to Texas a few years later and settled at Hebron. After the death of her first husband, she married J. T. McCormick in 1885.

Mrs. McCormick, despite her ripe old age, had enjoyed fairly good health almost up until the last and enjoyed her faculties to keep her young in spirit. She had often visited her daughter, in Plano.
Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Salmon of Plano and Mrs. Guy Jones of Dallas and sons, Virgil Isom of Carrollton, T. C. McCormick and H. F. McCormick, of Austin, and R. E. McCormick of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Isom, C. W. Isom, J. R. Salmon, Dr. T. C. McCormick Jack Isom and Ray F. McCormick, all grandsons.
The memory of this sainted mother will live long not only with members of her family, but with a host of friends as well. We join in extending deepest sympathy to all those left to mourn her passing.

Friday Rites Planned for Centenarian

CARROLLTON, Texas. Mrs. J. T. McCormick, who celebrated her one hundredth birthday last August, died Wednesday in her home here after a long illness.
A native of Jackson County, Ala., she came to Texas in 1874, settling near Hebron, Denton County. After the death of her first husband, Henry Isom, she married J. T. McCormick in 1885.
Mrs. McCormick was a charter member of the Hebron Baptist church, which was founded in 1883. She moved to Carrollton several years ago to make her home with a son, Roy McCormick.
Other survivors are sons, Virg Isom of Carrollton, T. C. McCormick and H. F. McCormick of Austin, R. E. McCormick of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. John Salmon of Plano and Mrs. Guy Jones of Dallas; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hebron Baptist Church, with the Rev. E. W. Prevo and Dr. Fred A. White officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery Hill.
Pallbearers will be James Isom, C. W. Isom, J. R. Salmon, Dr. T. C. McCormick, Jack Isom and Ray F. McCormick, all grandsons of Mrs. McCormick.
