OBITUARY

NOBLE, ESSIE MAE JONES Was born January 26, 1905, in East Texas in Timpson. She lived 100 years and left this earthly life on May 16, 2005. She was the daughter of the Rev. Edward Lee Jones and Emma Bradley Jones. Her father was a Baptist preacher who rode horseback through East Texas preaching and ministering to local congregations. She was a loving wife to her husband of sixty-four years, William Henry Noble, who preceded her in death in 1990. She was a devoted mother to her only child, Eileen, and an adoring grandmother to her two grandsons, Greg and Matt. Essie Mae was raised in East Texas and attended Mary Hardin Baylor College. After college she moved with her family to Carrollton where she taught school, and met her beloved husband, Henry. They were married on September 3, 1925. She was active in local clubs in Carrollton serving two terms as President of Carrollton Women's Club in 1933-34 and 1943-45. She and Henry were active members of the First Methodist Church of Carrollton, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and serving in many other capacities. Mrs. Noble is survived by her daughter, Eileen Noble Hudnall; two grandsons, Gregory Carl Hudnall and Matthew Noble Hudnall; Matt's wife, Anne Kornegay Hudnall; and one great grandson, James Brightman Hudnall, all of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA of Dallas, 362 S. Industrial Blvd., Dallas, 75207, or the Child Development Program at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, Dallas. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Interment Restland Memorial Park.
