OBITUARY

Early resident, 54, Years in County, Dies

SIDNEY SMITH NOELL
Sidney Smith Noell, 74, a resident of Dallas County fifty-four years, died Friday at his home in Addison, Dallas County, formerly Noell Junction. He is survived by his wife and six children, Mrs. Walter Stark of Carrollton, Ben E. Noell and Mrs. Guy  Dennis of Addison, Edd Noell of Richardson, Fields Noell and Miss Fannie Noell of Dallas. In 1882 Mr. Noell married Miss Nannie J. Lively and from this union eight children were born, two of whom died. His wife died Feb. 13, 1915. Later he married Mrs. S. J. Toon. All members of his family were at his bedside when he died. Funeral services will be held at the Addison Methodist Church Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Frankford Cemetery, with White Rock lodge No 234, A. F. & A., in charge of the services. Pallbearers will be Joe Y. Field, F. F. Taylor, Porter Cochran, Bob Patterson, Clarence Lewis and W. G. Danie.

OBITUARY

SIDNEY SMITH NOELL PASSED ON

   After a useful life covering a period of seventy-four years, fifty-four of these in Dallas county, Sidney Smith Noell passed on to that other world last Saturday. Death came to him at his home near Addison or Noells Junction as is commonly known. Born in Thomston, Ga., March 14, 1855, he came to Texas to live in 1875, first locating near what is now known as Love Field, then moving to a ranch near what is now called Midway and then settling on several sections on which since then has been built Noells Junction and where the Noell home was built, he residing there until his death.
   He was first married in 1882 to Miss Nannie Lively and to this union 8 children were born. Two of whom have preceded their father.  Mrs. Noell died in February, 1915. A few years later he was married to Mrs. J. S. Toon, who survives him, together with six children.  These are: Mrs. Walter Stark of Carrollton, Mrs. Guy Dennis of Addison and Miss Fannie Noell living in Dallas; Ben E. Noell of Addison, Fields Noell of Dallas and Edd Noell of Richardson.
Funeral services were conducted at the Addison Methodist Church Saturday afternoon with Rev. G. A. Ross of Carrollton in charge. Interment followed in the Frankford cemetery north of Addison, White Rock Lodge No. 234 A. F. & A. M. having charge at the grave.
  Active pall bearers were: Joe Y. Fields, A. A. Taylor, bob Patterson, Porter Cochran, W. G. Daniels and Clarence Lewis.
   Sidney was for years one of the leading farmers and stockmen of this county, his connection with the pioneers of this county linked him with the early growth of Dallas County. He was prominent in political affairs, church work and all civic matters for the benefit of his community. Only a few more are left of the rank of Sidney Noell and his passing marks another milestone in the closing of the road.
