Williams Tom L. Noell Tom
L. Noell was born in Dallas county, near Cochran's Chapel, December 18, 1881,
and died May 31, 1928, just east of Love Field while in the discharge of duties
connected with position he held Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday,
June 1st in the Methodist church at Addison, Rev. Parker of the Baptist church
conducting the service and being assisted by Rev. R. L. Lemons of the Methodist
Church. The funeral was in charge of the Masonic organization, Mr. Noell
being a member of White Rock Lodge No. 234, and their service being used at the
grave. Interment was in
Frankford cemetery near
Addison.
Mr. Noel was born, as noted, near Cochran's Chapel and had lived his life here
moving to Dallas bout two years ago when Allen Seale was elected sheriff and
taking a position in his office. On the night of his death he was called out
near Bachman's Dam on a disturbance call and had driven out Lemon Avenue to a
point just east of Love Field. Evidently he had stopped the motor and was either
watching the district, or had become sick for he was found there dead in his car
with the car lights still burning. Death had come, it was thought, about 1:30
a.m. Thursday, the cause being acute indigestion, according to Dr. Sparkman who
investigated the case.
Having lived his entire life in this community he was known by all in the way we
get to know each other thru association. That he measured up to the
standards and was an honored and loved citizen and brother is attested by the
veneration shown when his fellowmen gathered to pay their last sad rites. A
large cortege followed him to his last resting place; also the entire force from
the sheriff's office being present.
Tom Noell and Miss Emma Dee Kennedy were united in marriage January 17, 1904,
and to them one son was born, Sidney Noell, who is a member of the Dallas fire
department. The wife and son together with the father,
S. S. Noell of Addison, and three brothers
and three sisters remain to mourn his departure. The brothers are: Fields of
Dallas, Ben of Addison, Ed of Richardson. The sisters are Mrs. Walter Stark of
Carrollton, Mrs. Guy Dennis and Miss Fannie of Addison. While the family had
removed to Dallas nearly two years ago Mr. Noell had retained his membership in
the Methodist church at Addison where he had attended for years and from this
church he was taken to his final resting place. The Carrollton Chronicle - Friday, June
