OBITUARY
 
Wilma E. Peters, 96 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on June 6, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1926 in New Hope, Arkansas to Henry Clay Davis, Sr. and Emma Mae McBay. Wilma married Jesse Peters on April 20, 1946. She was a graduate of Hebron, Texas high school and of the Baptist faith. Wilma retired from the Denton State School, she also worked at Carrollton ISD and Southlake school. Her favorite things were cooking, she was known for her famous cinnamon rolls, taking care of her grandchildren and serving in the church GA's.

Wilma is survived by her sons, Jesse Peters and wife, Kay, David Peters and wife Cindy; daughter, Linda Jackson; grandchildren, Tiffani Thomas & husband, Justin; Justin Peters and wife, Candace; Chris Peters and wife, Jessica; Nikki Nack and husband, Michael; Tyler Tate & wife, Lily; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Davis; sisters, Doris Davis, Charlotte Owens & Peggy Brantley; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse O. Peters; parents, Henry & Emma Davis; daughter, Sharon Tate; grandson, Bert Malcolm; siblings, Edwin Davis, Alford Davis, Eugene Davis, Henry Davis, Jr., Carolyn Connally, and Steve Davis

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm before the service. Interment to follow the service at New Hope Cemetery, Mt. Springs, Texas.
