OBITUARY

Mrs. Pettitt, Teacher, Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Lynna Lee Lockhart Pettitt, 51, of 3512 Nogales, a fourth-grade teacher at Carrollton Elementary School, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the LaGrone Funeral Chapel, Canyon, Randall County. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon.

She died here Sunday.

Mrs. Pettitt had been in the education field since 1957 and had taught in Seattle, Wash., and for an American based oil company in Bombay, India. In Dallas she taught sixth grade for two years at Valwood Elementary School before transferring to Carrollton Elementary, this year. A native of Marshall, Harrison County, she had been a Dallas resident for three years.

She was graduated from West Texas State University in 1957 and received her master of education degree in 1970 from Sul Ross State University, Alpine, Brewster County.

She was a member of Parents Without Partners, International Toastmistresses, and Today's Church, Survivors include two sons, two brothers and one sister.
