OBITUARY
Alexander Rorex DALLAS " Alexander Kyle Rorex, died Wednesday. Funeral services
are at 12:30 p.m. today at Restland Memorial Chapel.
He was born in Greenville on Dec. 16. 1915, son of Bill and
Elizabeth Turner Rorex. He graduated from Greenville High School
and then joined a traveling dance orchestra. In 1934 he enrolled
at Texas Tech University and played with the college dance
orchestra and the Tech college band. In 1941 he married Leta
Carpenter.
Mr. Rorex served in the U.S. Army. He then attended Southern
Methodist University where he received his bachelor and master
degrees. He taught in the Carrollton school system for a short
time before becoming executive director of the National
Association of Theater Owners Association. He was also manager
of the Variety Club of Texas. Mr. Rorex retired from the
Association in 1984. He was a member of the Larry Walker's Class
at First Baptist Church in Dallas.
Surviving are his wife,; a brother, Rusty Rorex of Greenville
and sister Mrs. Lillian Laney of HIde Away Lake.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Rorex and a
sister, Helen Chapman.
