OBITUARY

Mike Shipman
Michael "Mike" Glenn Shipman went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on April 18, 2025 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on October 19, 1959 in Hastings, Nebraska to the late Gearld (Jerry) Lee Shipman and Oma Rochelle (Fearn) Shipman Ray.
Mike called Nebraska, California, and Texas home throughout his early years. He graduated from R.L. Turner High School in 1978 and later attended two years of Bible school in Pensacola, Florida. He was a gifted athlete in many sports, excelling in soccer and becoming a State Champion in wrestling. He married Gina Lynne (Goggin) Shipman on February 14, 1987. He worked many jobs that included working with his brothers on his Uncle Marv and Aunt June's dairy farm during the summers, installing beautiful custom wood floors, remodeling and building new homes, and owning rental properties that he took immaculate care of. He loved and provided for his seven children and beautiful bride of thirty-eight years. They enjoyed every day together, building a beautiful life centered on Jesus, family, and love for others. He gave his life to Jesus in his early twenties. He never looked back, pursuing God with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. He loved to share Jesus with everyone. He was known for his fire, passion, and love in all things that he did. He truly gave his life to all people and loved unconditionally, expecting nothing in return. He was a generous giver in his everyday life, intentionally blessing others and telling them that Jesus loved them. He will be remembered forever for being a loving husband, a wonderful Dad, a caring Papa, a true friend, and a humble servant to others, especially his beloved Jesus. Mike truly lived out Philippians 1:21 that says, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (NASB)
Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful wife Gina Shipman with their children & spouses Noah Shipman, Sarah Shipman, Charity (Tony) Lee, Enoch Shipman, Elijah (Lauren) Shipman, Hezekiah (Patricia) Shipman, and Uriah (Sarah Jane) Shipman; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Jeri Fortenberry, Monte (Peggy) Shipman, Barbara (Michael) Hadden, Lonnie Shipman, Terry (Cindy) Shipman; half siblings, Marcia Wessels, Marty Wessels, and Susan (Kent) Shaffer.
