DOUGLAS SMITH is the son of Mr. Russell Smith of 11686 Hines Blvd., Dallas, and Mrs. Don Curbo of 3307 Noble Ave., also of Dallas. He began school at William B. Travis Grade School, Dallas. When he was in the Fourth Grade, he began school at Farmers Branch School and attended that school until he graduated in 1947. The next fall he started at Carrollton High School. While there, he had a perfect attendance for three straight years, received the Science Award in 1950, and was elected president of the National Honor Society in 1951. His four-year scholastic average is 96.5.

OBITUARY

DOUGLAS RAY SMITH, 79, of Angleton passed away on Saturday in Angleton. Graveside services are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Angleton Cemetery Pavilion.

Doug was born November 30, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Issac Russell Smith & Grace Curbo and was a member of 2nd Baptist Church and the Adult 5 Men.
He retired from Dow Chemical as a Research Chemist.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers
Survivors include his wife Betty Smith, Sons; David E. Smith & fiancé Darenda Ince of Dallas & J. Eric Smith of Angleton. Daughter; Pattie Smith-McNesse & husband Mac McNesse of Angleton. Grandchildren; Lindsey Marie Smith, Emily Anne Smith & Allyson Noelle Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be 2nd Baptist Church Adult 5 Men.
