OBITUARY
Miss Jane Stark Passes Away
The many friends and classmates of Miss Jane Stark, 17, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stark of Alpha, were saddened to hear of her death at 2:20
a.m. Tuesday from spinal meningitis. She had only been ill since Sunday morning
first having a bad cold which developed into meningitis.
Miss Stark was a member of the Senior Class, and a very prominent member of the
younger set. She was active in all school activities and always ready to
participate in anything that she was requested to do. The many friends of Jane
and her family sympathize with them in this time of their great loss.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church
with Rev. R. F. Thompson, pastor and Rev. Lester BG. Rickman, pastor of
Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pall
bearers were selected from members of the senior class and were
Otto Vittrup, Billie Vittrup, George Wallis, Harold Willis, Ed Hughes, James
Collingsworth, Buster Stewart, and Millard Noell. Members of the senior class
and the high school entered in a group. Many beautiful floral offerings were
sent as a token of love and proving Jane's great popularity.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stark, one brother Frank, two
sisters Roberta and Sandra George all of Alpha.

OBITUARY
Jane Elizabeth Stark Called by Death
Miss Elizabeth Jane Stark, age 17 years, 2 months, of Alpha, Texas, died
at a Dallas hospital Tuesday morning at 1:30, spinal meningitis being the cause
of death. She was a senior in the Richardson High School at the time of her
death.
Funeral services were held in the Richardson Baptist church at 2:30
p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Bro. R. F. Thompson, pastor of Church of Christ in
Richardson officiated, with Rev. Knight of Ennis, Texas, assisting. Interment in
the Mt. Calvary cemetery near Richardson. Morticians, Rhotons. Pall bearers
were, Otto and Billy Vitrop, George and Hamal Wallis, Ed Hughes, James
Collingsworth, C. W. Murphy and Millard Noel.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack V. Stark of
Alpha; one brother, Frank Stark; two sisters, Roberta and Sandra George Stark,
all at home; and an uncle, Mr. Walter Stark of Carrollton.
Death came suddenly to this young girl just budding into
young womanhood and is certainly a decided shock to her parents, her brother and
sisters, and to the schoolmates with whom she has been so intimately associated
up to within a couple of days of the time of her death. The heartfelt sympathy
of the entire community go out to the bereaved parents and the entire family.
